LEEP Delivers RHUs for US Army Training Facilities

60 Relocatable Habitat Units provide Training Environment for US Department of Defense

February 02, 2012

Louisville, KY, February 2, 2012 -- LEEP, Inc. disclosed that the company has delivered to the United States Army an initial order for sixty (60) buildings to be used specifically as “Training Devices”. The Company is extremely pleased to have pre-fabricated and delivered the 60 buildings referred to as RHU’s - Relocatable Habitat Units. While LEEP Inc. produced the RHU’s for a prime defense contractor in the United States, the ultimate customer is the United States Army.

These RHU structures are of varying sizes and configurations, consisting of both one and two story buildings. They are constructed to replicate the look and texture of various building materials like brick, adobe, cinder block, mud, wood, bamboo, straw, or thatch. Materials and construction provide all weather, long-lasting, fire-retardant structures suitable for year-round military training in all environments. Their purpose is to provide training environment our men and women in uniform for overseas duty. Interior or exterior panels can be interchanged and re-configured, providing ‘a new training facility’ for repeated use.

These buildings were containerized and delivered in kit form, with no single component weighing more than 100 pounds, per a military specification. Ability to rapidly deploy the RHU structures, the high strength to weight ratio of the LeepCore™ panel, versatility and flexibility of design, and the ability to field assemble without special tools, all contributed to LEEP, Inc. being selected for this project.

Previously, the company has delivered more permanent training structures for use by the United States Marine Corps., which were constructed on aggregate and timber frame foundations. We are encouraged by this well received project and by the expanded exposure and visibility for our products within another branch of the U.S. Department of Defense.
